We had a ‘Royal Garden Party’ to celebrate the Queen’s 90th Birthday. Parents came along and enjoyed an afternoon cream tea whilst listening to music played by Ms Curtis’ Mum on the harp. Parents then joined classes for a ‘Royal Picnic’ on the school field as we excitedly awaited the visit from ‘Her Royal Highness!’ ‘Queen Elizabeth’ arrived accompanied by her corgi and our guest of honour ‘Mr Clive Hubery (BEM)’ our Chair of Governors, who has recently been awarded the ‘British Empire Medal’ in the Queen’s New Year’s honours list for his ‘Services to Education’. It was such a lovely afternoon and the children delighted in speaking to the Queen and wishing her a Happy Birthday! The afternoon was completed by a fantastic Punch and Judy show which the children absolutely loved. The laughter and squeals of excitement from the children and positive comments and smiles from parents sealed the day as another successful Evergreen ‘wow’ event!
